Cindy Abramson has an accomplished record of fundraising and executive leadership for nonprofits for 25+ years.
Most recently she led the Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) as its Executive Director for six years (2006-2013). During that time it grew from a start up organization to one with an $8.0 million annual budget, and is now providing more than 2,000 Denver Public School graduates with college scholarships annually. Prior to DSF, Cindy worked for 14 years as a senior manager at the Denver Art Museum, serving as its Deputy Director from 1999-2006 and Development Director from 1994-1999. Cindy worked for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in its fundraising department prior to coming to Denver.
Cindy joined the DSA board in 2012 because it combines two of her major interests: the arts and education. In addition to DSA, Cindy serves on the board of Mile High Montessori and as a senior advisor to the Institute for Leaders in Development at the University of Denver.
Cindy is married to John Abramson, and has two children and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include hiking, gardening, and writing.
